In the Spring of 2020, upon witnessing the economic impacts and increasing needs of our service population during the Coronavirus pandemic, Atlanta GLOW launched our Food and Household Supplies Assistance (FHSA) program. Our FSHA program provides care packages of food, school, hygiene and/or period supplies to help fight food insecurity, period poverty and learning loss in underserved communities while promoting the health, safety and wellness of women and their families.
We realize that when youth and families are no longer concerned about when their next meal will come, they are better able to shift their focus and experience better outcomes in other areas, such as education and employment. Therefore, through FHSA, economically disadvantaged young women and their families, may request to receive quarterly aid from Atlanta GLOW in the following form(s):
School Box: A supply of school supplies including a binder, folders, calculator, paper, pens and more.
PPE Package: A small supply of reusable face masks and travel-size hand sanitizers.
Lunch Box: A week’s supply of shelf-stable, nutritious lunch and snack options.
Period+ Kit: A supply of travel-size toiletry items as well as sanitary napkins, tampons and more.
Upon approval, the requested aid will be shipped within 7 days via USPS Priority Mail with tracking, or can be arranged to picked up from our office in Marietta Square.
